If you like bluegrass, I don't think you can go wrong with this release. Jake puts his own fingerprints on the genre, so it's not just more of the same. The production is great too. If you like Tim O'Brien, this is a pretty safe bet.
Jake graduated from Wheaton College a while back, and made an excellent first releast "Caged Bird", while there. This is a great follow up. He has a seemingly effortless voice, and does a fine job accompanying himself on guitar, violin, mandolin, etc. I was able to see him play as a back up musician in Lafayette, IN--go see him play solo if you ever get the chance. "Little Boy Blue" and "Ithaca" are great places to start if you want to check out some of his best songs.
