This album is well-done post-rock. There are a lot of bands out there that sound like rip-offs of Mogwai or EITS. This band manages to incorporate snippets of these bands sounds, but incorporate them with enough of their own thing to avoid sounding like just another shoegaze copycat band. Nicely done.
This band hails from New Zealand, they came out just after Mogwai, and yes it is heavily influenced my them, but has a more flowing feel.They have released 4 albums and a 29 minute EP. Solace is they're latest album and its a stunner, its far more drifty and fluid then Mogwai, not quite so math rock( not that I take anything away from Mogwai, awesome band. They music goes from chilled out grooves, to full on grooves very smoothly , and easy to get lost in they're tunes. If you want a good example watch on youtube' Nice day for an Earthquake' great video and great song. If you like Mogwai, Explosions in the sky, This will destroy you, you will absolutely love this.
