doesn't get much better
had the pleasure of seeing and briefly meeting janiva in cambridge last night. all i can say is that as good as this music is, it's even better live. whoop and holler set the tone for the night and she and the band never backed down from there. well worth the down load. end to end, may be her best work yet.

I was expecting another "Bluesician" with a perfect but sterile studio crew. I was wrong. Janiva Magness... I had never heard of her or her band. Give it a listen, This Woman digs so deep they had to throw her down a flashlight. No shit. The Band? They scratch and claw at these tunes and still come across smooth. Man, I really like this. Check it.
