DEFINITELY THE VERSION TO GET ...

... if you want the Cello Sonata. There may be other good ones on emusic, but they all come with an unacceptable number of "obligatory" tracks (and you can't tell from the previews if they are good or not). Starker is much better than, for example, the recent and heavily hyped Natalie Clein version on Hyperion (not on emusic). Clein plays the first two movements melodramatically and the final one bloodlessly. Starker is both more musical and more exciting. Superb
