J.S bach: Complete Cello Suites

Nanchiebil

I enjoy listening to his cello playing very much. I cried as I listen to most of the tracks. Simply Great Stuff Indeed!

This is now my reference interpretation

Shutterfreak

Queyraz is an incredible artist. He's capable of moving across musical genres as if it was the most natural thing to do. This 2-disc set of Bach's cello solo suites became my reference interpretation of these masterpieces. I am touched every time I listen to them. Even when trying to play them Queyraz inspires me. You won't regret!

Delightful collection - Excellent performance

TooOldForRap

The collected pieces are well chosen and delightful to listen to. Mr. Queyras's performance brings out all the richness of the cello. It's melodic, contemplative, and melancholy resonance lingers like incense in a cathedral. This is an album I return to often.

Heavenly.. !

I realize I am repeating what another poster has just said.. but I must say it again ! I too have been waiting a long time for a fresh interpretation.. I own about 12 renditions and nothing comes close.. Yes, and I agree, Gavriel LIpkind does come a not-so-close second, but the sheer energy, artistry, craftmnship, recording and the instrument itself in the Queyras readings is just.. heavenly !

Wonderful Sound and Artistry

EMUSIC-00D201E2

This recording by Queyras has to be considered among the best versions of the Bach suites. They playing is fluid and relaxed. The sound of the cello itself is probably the best of all the versions I have heard.

These are just superb

Rexmannz

I've waited over 3 decades for these performances. For me they trump all others I have heard and owned (and thats quite a few), with the new Gavriel Lipkind recording coming in a first equal. Both are played with stunning artistry and beauty of tone - and with a wonderful sense of joyfulness and awe. Queyras has his eyes to the heavens whereas Lipkind plays with a rich, earthy luxuriance. Anyway - if you want a recording of the Cello Suites that can fill you with a constant sense of wonder - these can do it! Very recommended.
