Early chills.
Dark cabaret isn't for everyone, but that doesn't mean it is lacking in hypnotic charm. Jill Tracy's voice is a sugary sort of sinister and the music spilling from her piano oftentimes plays at odds with the somber, moribund lyrics. Her styling is perhaps goth and most definitely adult. This is an early indicator of the chill that was to come with her second album, "Diabolical Streak". On "Quintessentially Unreal" listeners can hear a bare-boned version of "Extraordinary". This first listen at Jill Tracy with only her piano as accompaniment still holds its own against her later work.
