THis is a realy nice collection of tunes

Conticreative

I just joined the Jimmy Bruno Guitar academy and being able to listen to my "teacher" on these tunes is a real treat. Jimmy has impeccable taste and as another reviewer noted, he never compromises his musical integrity for technical showboating. But make no mistake: Jimmy is one of the best jazz players of all time.

Lovely

This is a great collection of tunes from the evergreen Jimmy Bruno. Jimmy never sacrifices the melodic quality of a tune in order to demonstrate his technical prowess. Taste & technique balanced to perfection.

The review title sums it up. This is a very pleasant set of solo tunes. I wouldn't begin to evaluate the technical aspects of solo guitar; all I can say is that it definitely hits the right spot.

They Say All Music Guide

On this superb CD, Jimmy Bruno picks up where Joe Pass left off in playing unaccompanied solo guitar. Without overdubbing or using a tapping technique, Bruno plays melody lines, harmonies and bass patterns, often simultaneously. His interpretations of nine standards and two originals are concise, melodic and purposeful, moving forward and developing to logical conclusions. Bruno’s technique does not overwhelm the songs yet it permits him to express himself at a high level, both technically and creatively. Jimmy Bruno is usually heard in groups, making this solo outing a special event. Highly recommended. – Scott Yanow
