on a sample listen the tracks here are more sonically interesting than eno's early ambient works and a more immediate comparison would be the numbing distractions of aphex twin's 'selected ambient works volume ii'

Being a big fan of Speedy J in his manic and more melodic moments, have been hunting these 2 albums down as they are rare and expensive to find but glad I didn't pay full whack. Fairly standard 'brooding ambient' but nothing of the Speedy J genius. Maybe a 'grower' or only for completists.
If you like Brian Eno's quieter ambient works (like Music for Airports), you'll love Paap's work as well. "Mbnt-Plng" sounds like an "Airports" outtake, actually...long, seemingly random, yet resonating and relaxing. This album and its follow-up are a welcome find for anyone interested in electronic ambient drones.
An excellent album for just screwing around or relaxing. It creates a creepy and brooding mood that will just let you chill out whenever you need to.
I've been listening to more and more electronic music lately, and this album and it's brother, "9598 II" are just right for moving through a few hours of work. It's ambient without being too quiet, rhythmic without being too distracting. Highly recommended.
