Brilliant young artist
I saw Joe Robinson in a small club this year. I had previously never heard of him and didn't expect much more than the usual mid-grade blues strummer traveling through on a Tuesday night. The cover charge was about $10 and he wasn't even the headliner; he was just the opening act. I was mostly visiting with my friends in the back of the club while he played, but my ears perked up on the first song. He was doing some stuff I didn't expect to hear at all. Long story short, he started playing the guitar at age 6, toured with Tommy Emmanuel before he was old enough to have pubic hair, and won Austrailia's got talent when he was 17. Yes, he is blindingly fast, but he is also precise, emotive, and very creative. He can use his guitar (strings and body) for percussion like Kaki King (and Tommy Emmanuel). I recommend this little 4-track album because every track is special.
