John Fleagle was taken from us too soon, as anyone who listens to this marvelous recording can attest. Fleagle understood the basics of medieval song perhaps better than anyone in the genre. He also understood the hidden passion that underlies much medieval songcraft. In "Worlds Bliss," Fleagle revealed that the medieval mind was capable of a profound and artistic take on the beauty and tragedy associated with love and death. Alas, even the Middle Ages had its Bohemians. While there are many faux revivals of all things medieval (ie goth and the like), Fleagle offers a living, breathing, artistic, and soulful medieval music that is accessible by almost anyone and is stark and rare in its beauty.
