Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns

Hippieg

This album has a depressed undertone. The best is Adios California and Hold on For Your Love with Johns usual great guitar playing and complimentary lyrics. Very good album.

I'm a relatively new convert to John Hiatt

dt4c

but I have become a great fan of his songwriting and interpretation of his own songs. Adios California and Damn This Town are 2 of my favorites on this album. The gritty feel of Detroit Made really takes me back to my old 8 track and my 1967 Chevelle. A little more production than his last few albums but I think it really adds depth to his music. All in all a very good ride.

Good, not great

Not my favorite Hiatt. A couple songs, especially "When New York Had Her Heart Broke" seem forced. Didn't stop me from listening, though.

Enough Already

I will download this album because I'm a John Hiatt fan. What bothers me is that I look to comments to see other takes on this album and all I see are complaints from Canada. Please if you dont like it dont buy into it its that simple. On the music side of this I enjoy this album very much I heard it at a friends house and had to find it myself. Emusic works for me. Thanks

Dear Canadians...

If it makes you fell any better, there are lots of albums I want to download but can't because I live in the US. This doesn't happen to be one of them, though.

For 6 years I've been waiting patiently for a wider selection on emusic. Although I have discovered a lot of new and older artists, and have been turned on to many different types of music I probably would not have heard otherwise; it is very disheartening to see all the music that the rest of the world gets to download, while here in Canada we do not. The record companies that do not allow the music to be released on emusic just lose out, as it gets downloaded from the torrent sites. It is unfortunate that the artist gets ripped off due to this.

The best part of this

I really love that my front page on Emusic Canada seems to be routinely filled with items I'm not allowed to buy. Are they trying to rub our faces in items that we're not allowed to buy? I keep getting messages from Emusic telling me they're working on it, but it's not happening fast enough.

why bother with Canada

ReverendCarnage

Seriously, what is the problem with emusic making these available in Canada

I guess I am going to be forced to buy this somewhere else in order to review it.
