Leaves you there
Achingly melancholic chamber music courtesy of Lurie who also stars in Jarmusch's sublimely deadpan first feature. Lurie's compositions from this same period for his post-bop no-wave jazz group Lounge Lizards give just a little hint that he could compose the familiar (if not derivative) consonant dissonance present here. Captures the film's milieu perfectly. Stands on its own as off-kilter mood music.
