This is one amazing emerging underground band. I've always described them to people as and an indie rock Mr Bungle. Naked and Palletized is their second release (the long over due third has just been printed! Look for it (6/4/05)). For a self engineered album N&P is not lacking, a solid recording all the way through. This is one of those albums that is so different and creatively original that it will take the novice listener a few listens before you start to "get it", but once you do, you will love it. Some of the things that most bands these days are lacking, Juan Prophet is chocked full of, interesting melodies, dynamic volume and mood changes, and creative use of instrumentation. The only thing that is better than listening to this album is seeing them live. Yes, their sound IS this layered and complex on the stage, and watching them do it is exhilarating.
