Golden gems from early Indian movies!
This is a marvelles compilation of old 78 rpm recordings in India referred to as "plates". This collection by Hindusthan Records of Bhajans by two wonderful singers of the 30's and 40's is absolutely fascinating and the rarity of this material is unbelievable previously only found in private collections. K.L. Saigal and S.D. Burman were two of the companys main artists. The company Hindusthan Musical Products Ltd, can also take credit for making the first recordings of classical music stalwarts such as Ustad Faiyaz Khan and Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan This a brilliant opportunity to sample these two pioneer film crooners.
