Very good early guitar prog

SelfRisinMojo

for the purpose of easy reference, let's say this falls somewhere between late Cream and early Steve Howe Yes without the keyboards. The vocals are Jack Bruce like at times and the guitar flows smoothly and deftly between acid and prog rock. Another collector's market nosebleeder available here on Emusic. Keep 'em coming.

Pleasant Find

I saw an edited version of their performance at the Basement on ABC TV. The Basement versions of Politician and Parade of Fools are excellent. Their early work is good but their 2005 work shows musicians at ease with their talent and enjoying every minute of their own performance. If you like this, take a look at The Hoochie Coochie Men Live at the Basement. Some of the players here were in that group.

This obscure document of Australian ’70s psychedelia comes repackaged and remastered from original source tapes on European archive specialist label Little Wing, issued in the ’90s after appearing in 1972 to disparate reception. With an outstanding progressive rock album, Kahavas Jute rates alongside other heavy acid rock gems from the Southern Hemisphere — Human Instinct’s Stoned Guitar and Spacefarm. While these groups may have slipped under the carpet, fans of Cream, Blue Cheer, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience will find familiar territories explored on this explosive workout. – Skip Jansen
