Nice

I've actually met some of these guys as Wintersleep and while they may seem a little nerdish (sorry, it's true guys) it never shines through in the music: which is really what it's all about. I can definitely hear some themes that were later used in Wintersleep. Guitar tone is the same and like Wintersleep, fortunately, the recording is pristine. The familiar range in tempos, impetuous riffs punctuated with smoothe interludes are always a breathe of fresh air for anyone sick of the shit on domestic, commercial radio. It'd be nice if Wintersleep would play some of this stuff in concert...

from Prince Edward Island. Absolutely engaging. With hints of Tool and tones of Wintersleep this album rocks start to finish and all over again. As amazing as Wintersleep has become Kary surely had their mojo working. Forever a cult favourite among the hardcore Wintersleep following.

First Dependent disappointment.

While Kary may still be better, more challenging, more orchestral and satisfying than most Canadian indie out there right now .. it doesn't measure up to the rest of the Dependent records collection. Wintersleep and Contrived and Holy Fuck are much better apart than in some form together as Kary.
