If you like folk music and a beautiful female voice, you will love Kate Wolf. I was first acquainted with her music shortly after this album was released in the mid 80's, which, unfortunately, was also shortly after she passed away. Alan Burton, a dj on San Francisco's "The City," played many of her songs, so I picked up this LP and I have been a fan ever since.
Somehow I missed tuning into Kate Wolf in the 70's and 80's and it wasn't until I downloaded this album that I discovered a powerful talent. Ms. Wolf has a way of weaving simple truths and delightful stories in her writing and she delivers them honestly. Such a soft strong voice.

I first listened to Kate Wolf in a little cafe in Olympia, Washington during my college years in the late 70s. She captivated me then and she captivates me still as I listen to these songs full of the spirit of people and the land and a huge generosity, a compassion and good hearted humor for the human condition. Her voice is an amalgem of deep river currents and birdsong, the teasing lover and the soothing mother. Wonderful.
