Mr. Drew was long overlooked and under-listened, this album from 1973 was one of the first jazz records that i ever encountered. I was not easily impressed by jazz as many other genre's were flourishing at that time, but one incidental listening at a party in Newport blew me away. This is a solid record, from the production and recording quality to the sophisticated and elegant playing of both Mr. Drew and NHOP. turn the lights down low and the stereo up a notch or two and you'd swear they were in the room with you. willow weep and blues for nils are classic.
