Approaching Debussy
This is one of the greatest operas composed since those by Berg and Debussy. The music is really beautiful, and this opera is the only heir to Pelleas & Melisande. Saariaho creates, as did Debussy, a world without time or place in this very tragic tale. Unfortunately downloading from emusic will only give you a one dimensional mode of appreciation as one can only really enjoy an opera such as this with its libretto. Buy the CD or DVD..
