Kirk Fletcher is hot!!! He is a very tasty guitarist - as anyone who's heard the Fabulous Thunderbirds recently knows. But this session also offers a variety of vocalists and solo instruments to be embellished by Kirk's fine Blues guitar playing. The vocals by Finis Tasby (especially River's Invitation) are very reminiscent of Percy Mayfield's deep and slightly dry voice. Janiva Magness adds color and depth to the songs that she sings - she sure has plenty of soul in her singing. Kim Wilson is great here on harmonica, and his vocal contributions aren't bad either. This is a swingin' and rockin' session that doesn't allow you to fall asleep at the wheel if you're driving.
