Lamb are still at the top of their game

StillWater

Ok, maybe not right at the *top* - there's no Gabriel or Gorecki here. But there is a solid album of good songs with that characteristic Lamb feel. I disagree with Exponent below: wishy-washy chillout this is not. Gone is some of the angsty freneticism of some earlier Lamb tracks, but the creativity, the syncopated beats, the womb-like warmth and the dynamic and surprising song structures are all still here. This is still Lamb doing what they do best - they're just going about it in perhaps a more elegant and consistent manner than before. And that's certainly not a bad thing. For me, this album has more 'keepers' than any of the older albums did.

Big fan of the band - favorite album

Maubus

This is my favorite lamb album... Tracks like Build a Fire and Existential Itch bring a new level of epic vocal harmony and that didn't exist before in their sound.

Deep and Superb

jasound

You can't listen to this album looking for their past. That is not what this work was meant to present. This is a collection of things they've been working on in separate lives for past several silent years, that have recently come together again for a newly inspired experiment of poetry and sound. It delievers! Lou is right on with her texts which reveal an inspired intelligent poet who reflects often on her life. Andy's fantastic programming has matured even more after all these years and some of the ideas and twists are fantastically executed. I bought this as soon as I discovered its release. I highly recommend sitting down in your sofa with this one one calm night and letting true art hit you in the brain.

Dissappointing

I've been a big Lamb fan for many years now, but this album just didnt do it for me - Its too middle of the road (its just kinda plays in the background and never grabs you). Gone are the wonderful glitched up beats and instead with have a wishy-washy faux ambient / faux chillout album. Shame. They should bring back the drum and bass! ;-)
