A warm and long-lasting season.

Speciman70

This is Laurent's seventh album as a leader. The forth one within the quartet format, it features a band almost identical to the one that recorded Like a Tree In the City in 2003 (Sunnyside/88TREES), with Jerome Sabbagh on tenor sax and Damion Reid on Drums. Young Joe Sanders is now replacing Brandon Owens on bass. After ten years with French label Cristal Records, Laurent Coq has finally crossed the line of total independence and created his own label. Therefore, this album marks an important milestone in his journey as a musician for it is the first one to be released on 88TREES. Here are eight new compositions that summarize years of inspiration, work and friendship with these amazing musicians. These fragments put together will sure make a warm and long-lasting season.
