Review of 6 tracks only

Disclaimer: I only downloaded tracks 1,2,5-8. This review is for those tracks only. The rest of the tracks did not interest me at all. Do not go into this expecting the Lenny White of his "Return to Forever" days. You will be disappointed. Yes, there is the occasional glimpse of things to satisfy that expectation, but mostly a very strong pop song sensibility prevails throughout this album. In fact the strength of that sensibility was the determining factor in which tunes I downloaded. And even in the tracks I did download, all too often just when things seem to be taking off the tunes end on a fade out or the solo ends and we are returned to the melody. Still, the tracks I got are not bad additions to a shuffle playlist on my iPod.

With these musicians I thought we'd be back at the 'Astral Pirates' days. There are hints of this and Streamline and some just falls a little flat for me. However, I am being really picky.
