Sounds similar to The Odd Couple theme

zoot_the_muppet

Five of the songs here are from the other albums available on eMusic. The other tracks - tracks 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 11 all sound the same, perhaps from another album, but I cannot find it anywhere on the internet. These 6 songs are pure jazz. If you can imagine a typical band consisting of piano, organ, sax, trumpet, an upright bass, and a drummer using brushes; toss in an occasional electric guitar and violin, and pretend you are listening to the theme song from "The Odd Couple," this is what you get - a nice cool jazz ensemble. Nice songs but totally forgettable and they all sound alike.

The Lenny White Collection contains 11 tracks the jazz fusion drummer recorded for the Hip Bop label in the mid- to late ’90s. Highlights include “Uno Dos Adios,” “Pick Pocket,” “Who Do You Love,” and cover versions of Cannonball Adderley’s “Sack o’ Woe” and “Dr. Jackle/Africa Talks to You,” an interesting blend of the Jackie McLean and Sly Stone compositions. – Al Campbell
