This is a great value.
No one else is better known as a 12 string guitar player than Leo Kottke, but his own compositions are sometimes not the most approachable. His sense of melody and rhythm are advanced beyond my abilities and it often takes several listens before I get it. This collection is ideal for someone unfamiliar with Kottke's music; it includes some of his vocal work and some great instrumental covers. His resonant voice makes for some great storytelling in Sonora's Death Row and in Kristofferson's Here Comes That Rainbow again. As an oldtimer, I appreciate the replaying of Sleep Walk and Embryonic Journey. His own stuff is true genius, but this collection is a special bargain for the uninitiated and will open the door to his other works.
