Contains much of what is on Champaigne Charlie, but if you like the style pick up the ones that are only on this album.

Blast from my past!

EMUSIC-001BFA05

I grew up listening to old tapes of Leon Redbone that my dad would play constantly. I remember (around the time this album came out) that my dad was all excited that Leon Redbone was coming to Milwaukee to play at Summerfest (our big music festival) but was disappointed because he couldn't get tickets. So I remember sitting as close to the Marcus Ampitheater and watching him sit there on a park bench with a beer and a smile. My dad passed away this past March (his name was Leon too) and I couldn't think of a better way to remember him, than by downloading this. Despite the "mad clapper" this is a great deal and a great album. Just good clean, fun music.

people like this guy...

Leon Redbone, you don't get cooler than this guy. But what I'd like to do is get my hands on the glad-happy tool who decided he was going to clap off beat to every song. Why do idiots like this have to exist, ruining live albums for the rest of us? I can just see this guy in his front row seat, dumb smile, wishing he was part of the show, wondering why no one else is clapping along like him. You know why, cuz that's the kind of things dickheads do. It's always the dickheads who are acting like dickheads.

They Say All Music Guide

A live setting is just about ideal for a performer like Redbone, and he does not disappoint on this two-record set, which features “Diddy Wah Diddy,” “Champagne Charlie,” and other favorites. – William Ruhlmann
