Gotta love Les Paul

DigitalHobo

but why is he not holding a Les Paul on the cover of this album? He is holding a Gibson SG, which he is reputed to have hated so much he asked that Gibson take his name off the thing.

Sweet Deal

El Raptor

Knew about his work but never had his music in my collection. The edit room floor must be a mess from trying to pick & choose tracks. This is a huge bargain, not just for the music, but also getting all these tracks for so few credits. Thanks eMusic.

Les Paul's playing is nothing more than extraordinary, come to the point... The creative point that is. I wish that his songs with Mary Ford were available on this disc. She had an unbelievable realistic dimension to the music.

What can I say ...

ItsMyIlusn

about Les Paul that hasn't been said a thousand times. Thanks for offering this compilation so I can introduce the younger members of my family to the one who started so much. Would rate this higher if there were more stars.

It is what it is. A compilation of a TRUE pioneer. You will hear things on this compilation that you never knew existed in the pantheon of guitar music. Whether Les is always what I want to hear or not, there is no denying the genius and contribution. 5 stars all the way. BTW this version sounds good too.

By Lenny Kaye, eMusic Contributor

It's the "Guitar Boogie" to end all guitar boogies, with an honor guard of guitarists arrayed behind the benevolently smiling figure of Les Paul, who sits on a raised platform from where he has just finished entertaining a sold-out house at the State Theater in Cleveland and accepting an American Master award from… more »
