LP falls short yet again with "Living Things"

neofightclub1013

When LP released their much anticipated "A Thousand Suns" I loved the band that much that I didn't even preview it beforehand. It was a tradition that started when I heard Hybrid Theory for the first time in the darkness of my living room many years ago. I was on LP like they were the coolest band around & for a while we could arguably say they were. But after Meteora, Linkin Park went in a different direction. I understand that over time a band becomes eager to progress and evolve their sound to accommodate with the changes in their lives. Some succeed, but unfortunately LP in my opinion did not. They've turned too poppy & while I've enjoyed some of their ballads, too much of that gets old, which in turn has caused the band to execute their so called harder tracks in a much weaker fashion. I still love the band but this is the first time I will actually be selective of the tracks I purchase because as a full album i'm sadly disappointed.

I have nearly all of LP's songs, and among my favorites are all of the songs on this album. I love the perfect mixture of electronic/ pop/ rock........it gives me goosebumps. LP did a great job.

Living Things

After two horrible Albums in a row, Linkin Park emerges from the reckage with a perfect blend of Electronic Hip-Hop and Rock to create there most diverse Album yet. Every song brings a different sound creating a fantastic album. If you have the money, buy it now!!!! I have a feeling I be listening to this Album for a long time to come.

eMusic Yearbook: 2001

By Melissa Maerz, eMusic Contributor

Was September 11, 2001 really the day the music died? It sure seemed like it at the time. Clear Channel released a memo suggesting the removal of more than 150 songs from their 1200 radio stations, declaring such tracks as Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'," Filter's "Hey Man, Nice Shot," and "all songs by Rage Against the Machine" to be "lyrically questionable" in light of the terrorist attacks. Record stores yanked the latest by hip-hop anarchists… more »
