Magic is the word

ianr

The other day I had the sudden urge to listen to one of Lisa's records. And I got stuck. Having listened to one I couldn't think of anyone else I'd want to listen to after, nothing else made sense. Having re-listened to all her records I have to say I was slightly surprised that this is the one that stood out. It didn't make so much of an impression on me at the time. There's a wonderfull wonky chamber music quality to it. Elegantly focused into half an hour, this is music to be absorbed into and left wanting more. I was wondering what I could listen to to escape but it was obvious, the OP8 record is now playing as I type. That'll lead to Kristin, Neko, wherever. When I come back though, this is where I'll come.

very fine indeed

Ms Germano goes from strength to strength - it never ceases to amaze me that a real artist, musician and singer like her are never truly recognised; the record-buying public prefering the non-talents of x-factor manufactured karaoke singers. That's freedom of choice I guess anyway this album cements Ms Germano as a major voice alongside Ms Topley-Bird, Ms Sarah Assbring and Angele David-Guillou. Great stuff

smooth and fine

I love her smooth but slightly scratchy voice and her atmosphere in her songs, most all of them, so give her a chance and try out, you will love her!

Not disappointed

I have not listened to this enough, but if you like her other stuff, this is quite as subtly complex as her other stuff. Nothing terribly different from that earlier stuff, but I just love her voice and the poignant, but soft emotion behind her songs
