The vocals of this set are not their best, but the drumming is well up to speed. A year or two ago it was well-nigh impossible to find secular Afro-Cuban music like this, but paradoxically enough the CD-driven decline of the LP has also led to the cassette reissue of all sorts of very rare recordings. – John Storm Roberts
