If you've ever seen their Christmas Show with the Worlds Famous Potani Sisters, then this is a must. One of only a few gems available on emusic

Great

Pumpkin-22

One of the best Christmas albums of this century.

Makes a cold December day feel warm

This surf rock album has become one of my holiday essentials, and it mixes nicely in a Brian Setzer/Los Straitjackets/various indie rock playlist.

Wow!

Christmas music usually makes me want to slit someone's throat just to see them wear their blood like a bright red Santa suit, but Los Straitjackets has changed all that for me with their album Tis the Season for Los Straitjackets. It's surf rock xmas music!!! Raise your hands and clap for Santa! Guaranteed to exorcise your xmas demons and get that Grinch's foot tappin'...

Godd, but its been done before.

Defintely listenable and fun, but the definitive surf-rock christmas collection (from which this was ripped off) was done better forty-something years ago by the The Ventures.

Truly Original!

This is not only the best Christmas record in my collection, it's also really great to dance to, wonderful for those December after midnight egg-nog-induced hip-shakings. Highly recommended.

Fondue

This is going to go great with my Turkey Fondue and paper napkins that read "holidays with the family are always a trip... a trip to the liquor store". Boxing day with the parents! Bring it on...

They Say All Music Guide

If you’re looking for someone to help you share the joy and magic of the holiday season, who better than the world’s leading masked instrumental surf band? Los Straitjackets don’t offer up a whole lot of surprises on ‘Tis the Season for los Straitjackets!, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing; Eddie Angel and Danny Amis serve up lots of tasty guitar work, and Pete Curry and Jimmy Lester are one solid rhythm section, just as they’ve always been, and on these 13 tunes (11 covers and two originals) the lucha libre-obsessed guitar wranglers show off the smarts, humor, and sterling chops that have become their trademark. The “La Bamba”-accented “Feliz Navidad,” a version of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” which channels the spirit of the Chantays, and the Ventures tribute of “Sleigh Ride” are highlights, and while this album will go over best with those who thrive on retro cool, this should send your next Christmas party into a state of dance fever with anyone who appreciates the era of enjoyable AM radio. How’s the surf at the North Pole these days, anyway? – Mark Deming
