A very short introduction to some of the most essential Louis Jordan hits. Only eight tracks are included, but the selections couldn’t be better, with the proto-rock masterpieces “Caldonia,” “Choo Choo Ch’ Boogie,” “Let the Good Times Roll,” and a few other of Jordan’s seminal jump-blues sides. A great place to start, but there are far more comprehensive collections on the market. – Matt Fink
