Great album - wrong cover

ericharms

Anyone with an appreciation of REM or the Athens GA scene of the 80s needs to have this in their collection. "Motorcade" was written by REM drummer Bill Berry. Note: "'Til the Cows Come Home" was released as an EP in 1984 and consisted of only the last five songs of this collection (tracks 12 - 16). The cover pictured is that from the self-titled album "Love Tractor" released in 1981, which featured only the first eleven songs. Cover art on the original album had a gold metallic ink--which sadly turns to muddy yellow when shown on screen! In summary, it would be more accurate to change this download album name to "Love Tractor."

great record, plus ep!

This is a great record from maybe THE great unsung band of the early '80s Southeastern college scene. All their stuff was consistently good, though the production on this first album is a little stiff; it got better on subsequent records. Also includes the ep "'Til the Cows Come Home," the highlight of which is the cover of "Neon Lights."

That began to happen in the early 1980s, when R.E.M. found an audience beyond crowds of fellow Georgians crammed into beery parties at discarded churches and clubs. When it came out in 1983, the… more »
