Something For Everyone

DarrenD

I shared guitar duties and sang backup vocals for MBT. We had various influences & it shows. I'll say this: you won't find more compelling lyrics (I can say that because I didn't write them). Here's a brief analysis: 1) Slush - pure power pop; 2) Drone - 90s British influence - check out steel drums in the verse; 3) 20-Something - Blink-182 influence; 4)Combat - Radiohead influence (very big shoes to fill); 5) Sweet Irene - Smashing Pumpkins influence - strong use of dynamics; 6) Worry About Me - simple & pretty acoustic tune; 7) Sugar On The Girl - pure power pop - cool buildup post-guitar solo; 8) Halfway To L.A. - hooky as hell - listen for electric drums alongside acoustic drums in the prechorus; 9) Vintage Skyline - builds to a U2-like anthem; 10) Saturnine - we were listening to Pete Yorn when we wrote the chorus; 11) If I Was - great verse/chorus chords - admittedly, I rip Matchbox 20's "Push" for the buildup to the big ending. Hope you like it.
