Surfer sci-fi samplers. Their music is what Dick Dale would have done if he wrote the scores for movies like "It Came from Outer Space" or "Martian Beach Madness". You may have heard them before-- they did the theme song to Mystery Theater 3000 (and if you know that somewhat obscure program, you are ready for this band). Sure, this could have been another surf record that mimics the style of the Ventures or Dick Dale, but Man or Astro-man? always add their own unique brand of wacked-out science fiction and off the wall playfulness. With that mentality, Man or Astro-man? continue to manage to stray away from adjectives such as “generic” or “carbon copy” with Experiment Zero. – Mike DaRonco
