"Dressing Up" The Music Leaves Me Dissatisfied
\"What a deal,\" I thought. All this Mantovani for an unbeatable price. Having listened to the album, I have to revise my opinion downwards. This is all good music, and if the pieces were played the way they were written I'd be perfectly happy. But Mantovani insists on adding his own bits and pieces, and turns masterpieces into something less. Some classic Mantovani shines through here and there, enough so that I'll listen to this album from time to time. And maybe his treatments will grow on me. For now, though, I'm not a very happy camper.
