Balkan funk by way of New Orleans...
Like their previous record, this one veers from second line to eastern Europe, spy movie music, cabaret, then to Raymond Scott (Looney Tunes, anyone), funk, rock and even a little (Lesley) metal. Their stage show looks like a must-see experience that I hope to catch, a couple of dozen whirling dervishes pounding out tight rhythms and melody. Definitely recommended!
