Pop music has long made presidential politics one of its more reliable subjects. The denizens of the Oval Office are right up there with sex, death, trains and umbrellas. Randy Newman, Neil Young and Bright Eyes have all addressed presidents in song, open-letter fashion; Radiohead commanded us to Hail to the Thief and Pearl Jam mocked a "Bushleaguer."
