A superior compilation of Mario Ortiz’s long association with Combo Records, the album features selected tunes wherein the talents of Anthony Cruz, Primi Cruz, and Luigi Valentin are put to great use. However, Ortiz’ brilliant arranging skills are the key ingredient for the band’s greatness. An excellent sampler of one of Puerto Rico’s most talented (and underappreciated) musicians and bandleaders, who is sadly missed. – José A. Estévez, Jr.
