mazzy's debut hits it out of the park! an almost perfect album and certainly on my list of 100 albums to take to deserted island, taste of blood and ghost highway are perfect driving faster than you should be songs. halah and ride it on put most of what's out there today to shame. fase into you may be better known but this is her best!(although any mazzy is splendid) !

Thirty seconds into the first song, frontwoman Jessica Numsuwankijkul warns "red comes rushing through your skies" over the same gristle-greased guitars that occupied the better part of Smashing Pumpkins' Gish. Who Are…Eternal Summers

By Lindsay Zoladz, eMusic Contributor

25 Bands to See at Coachella 2012

By eMusic Editorial Staff, eMusic Contributor

There is every other music festival and then there is Coachella, the California-desert weekend that, in many ways, set the template for all that followed. The first U.S. festival to boast big-ticket reunions and all-over-the-map booking, Coachella continues to maintain its distinctive, idiosyncratic personality. Needless to say, navigating such a wide array of music can be tricky. We've picked 25 acts worth making time for. more »

They Say All Music Guide

Mazzy Star’s debut, She Hangs Brightly, picks up where Opal’s Happy Nightmare Baby left off; merely exchanging Kendra Smith’s languorous vocals for the sultrier presence of Hope Sandoval, David Roback continues chasing the neo-psychedelic holy grail he’s pursued since his days with the Rain Parade, albeit with mixed success here. After opening with a pair of standouts, the dreamy “Halah” and the garage-inspired “Blue Flower,”…the group demonstrates a solid grasp of atmosphere and texture… – Jason Ankeny
