Better than expected...

Ascender

...and I expected very little because I bought this album based solely on the name. However, I'm a huge Doomtree / Rhymesayers (I realize their joined by little more than geographic proximity) fan and I was really pleased with this. "Don't Stop Drop and Roll" is a fantastic bit of shape shifting electrofunk.

Mel G and Doomtree makes me Happy

Doomtree MCs dominate this latest full length from the "crazy in a good way" Minneapolis group. Mel G is a Twin Cities spare parts collective with members from Building Better Bombs, Digitata, and of course Doomtree all adding into the mix. Who would have thought that a song called "Dead Baby Joke" could be so good? You'll love most of this record.
