The Music We Make

Melochrome’s debut The Music We Make blend’s the group’s sweet boy-girl vocals, swirling guitars, keyboards, and gentle rhythms into laid-back dream-pop like “All the Jens in the World,” “Lift,” and “Wishing and Waiting.” “This Is Our Year” and “The Invisibles” are some of the album’s other highlights, and while songs like “Radio Star” and “A Day After Christmas” are so dreamy that they tend to drift out of focus, The Music We Make is a pleasant debut from a group that provides a fresh update on early-’90s-style shoegazing pop. – Heather Phares
