I have been a Men Without Hats fan (much to the chagrin of everyone who has had to ride with me on a road trip of any length) so I had been looking forward to this release from the moment I heard they were working on it. Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it. My first listen through was literally painful - there was something about the tones used or the way it was mixed which forced me to turn it down and resulted in a massive headache. The mix is horrible, with Ivan's voice sounding like it was added as an afterthought over the top of frequently discordant electronic buzzing and lacking much of the creative wordplay present in their previous releases. If there are any other MWH fans left in the world, do yourself a favor and avoid this release or it will forever taint your opinion of them.
