Found this on an Oldfield forum

Menopeningumbrellasahead

Interesting, according to further research and sources that I have done on my own, such as Wikipedia, and a personal email interview with Mr. Oldfield himself, reveals that this Crown Stereo Records version of Tubular Bells/ Sailor's Hornpipe...is actually the demo version that was recorded in 1972 (prior to the 1973 title debut version). This rare recording was made with the help and expertise of sound engineers Tom Newman and Simon Heyworth. I'm pretty sure that this rare record is the demo version, which is really neat.

Not original

Rodrigo_de_Sa

There is no way this is the original version. It may be the real Mike Oldfield, wich would be wierd, but this is absolutely a very cheap version of Tubular Bells.

Studio Group NOT Mike Oldfield

Djspin

Search "Crown Records Tubular Bells" and iTunes helpfully tells you it is a cover by studio musicians

NOT 12 credits

stevehowe

(2 CREDITS) It said. Easy enough to misread (2 as 12 Worth 2 credits for curiosity value. I still want his better stuff though.

Mike Oldfield ??

I was hoping for the original version of Tubular Bells and Sailors Horn Pipe. Very disapointed.

Possibly a demo tape

r.thorpe

A bit of googling gives mixed results, but it seems possible that this a demo version by MO himself.

stevehow,

riblet1958

It was 12 credits when I wrote that. OUTRAGEOUS.

Hmmm.. Mike Oldfield by Mike Oldfield

MIDIWerks

Look at the album title. This is not the Tubular Bells album. It's not a bad version, just not the original.

Unrepresentativ- e

Saint-Anley

Unconvincing and not representative of MO's great work. Sorry!

What a Disappointment

Steviek19

The 30 second clips might convince you this is MO's original, but it isn't. I've been familiar with the vinyls for 35 years - I know what I'm talking about. Come on eMusic please be up front about this kind of thing
