Uniquely Beautiful Experimental Pop From Late 80s:
This is my personal favorite from one of the most intriguing bands of their era. Recorded in '86 or '87j, the band has matured musically and in terms of artistic vision. The songs here reflect are dark, as usual for the band. But they are also filled with haunting chord changes, melodies, harmonies and lyrics. Some of the songs dip into the realm of the surreal (check "Inner Station"-- a standout) without sounding affected. This band is sometimes regrettably lumped with "goth" or dark new wave ala The Cure, et.al. No way. This is experimental music which honestly reflects the people making it-- musicans, poets and DJs who moved from their native Israel to Belgium, and ended up with Crammed Records at the height of their creativity in electropop. Download Inner Station and I Imagine to get a taste. If those grab you, you'll like the rest.
