"Heeeeeeeeeeeeell Yeahhhhhhh!"

Grover

Album opens with a hearty shitkickin' "Hell Yeah!" that pretty much sums up the whole thing. Big barrel chested alcohol fueled Southern fried in your face rock. Hell Yeah!

Good Southern Boogie

that transcends where you are! Rave reviews from OH, UT, MA...Great Southern rock n roll knows no local bias. I was a newly transplanted Jersey boy when I heard this working at Peaches Records (remember them?) and I was blown away. Great originals and great cover of 'Dreams' as mentioned by Oneofsix. Still sounds good.

best southern rock since Skynyrd

Rock hard, drink hard, RIP Danny Joe Brown, and love the use of the Death Dealer on the cover by Frazetta.

REAL Rock n' Roll

I went to an Outlaws concert in 77 or 78, the warm up band was Molly Hatchet, (Molly who??!) Man did they blow away the Outlaws. If you are a Southern Rock and Roll fan, you gotta love this group. Hold to your hat!!

This is one of their best albums. The group had a great sound and their must was great on FM radio when it was king.

Guilty Pleasures

Being from the North, one could only chuckle and gleefully pick up awesome albums with album art like Molly Hatchet. If they only could have showed you the back of this one, where it goes on to try to explain how they came up with Molly Hatchet. Does it matter? This is Southern Rock at its most Southern. Bounty Hunter (Why, I DIDN'T know that $500 would get my head blown off - but I'll keep it in mind!), Gator Country, are classics that shouldn't be missed. The cover of "Dreams I'll Never See" is quite good and not to be missed. This is the Southern Rock they won't play on modern day canned radio anymore. Go get it!

They Say All Music Guide

Molly Hatchet comes out of the chute kicking and screaming on this, the band’s debut effort. With obvious influences including fellow Floridians Lynyrd Skynyrd, as well as the Allman Brothers, Mountain, and any number of other hard rock bands, Hatchet didn’t take long to catch on with what would become legions of fans. Songs like “Bounty Hunter” and the cover of the Allman Brothers Band’s “Dreams I’ll Never See” helped to build a solid base of fans who still hold tight to their Molly Hatchet rock & roll dreams. All in all, a splendid debut album from a band that, in true Southern fashion, has had its share of ups and downs. And Danny Joe Brown proves that he is a singer to be reckoned with. – Michael B. Smith
