Listened then

Turtlesaver

I listened to Naked Aggression in the early 1990s, saw them play a church basement in Madison, Wisconsin, before they relocated to California. Got my picture taken with Kristen when the band played on the first Warped Tour. Better than Bikini Kill, L7, or Spitboy if you ask me, but I grew up in WI, too. Kristen still sells merchandise online.

the best part is...

bastardo

You can tell how great a punk band is by the frequency of which you see their logo on the clothing of hungry, doped-up gutter punks from broken homes walking the big city streets "fishing for change". I've spent a lot of time walking around Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Berkeley, and I knew that N/A were the shite before I ever heard them. When I saw them in Lancaster, CA (where dreams go to die but punk still lives) they blew my mind and signed the CD I bought, which happened to be this one. As much as I love it (especially the songs PLASTIC WORLD and OUT OF CONTROL), my favorite thing about this band is that the singer is a teacher down in Los Angeles. How punk is that, eh?
