Great Performances.
Great performances by the Namaste Clarinet Quartet (Claudio Miotto, Luca Saracca, Guido Arbonelli, and Ivan Gambini) of Sergio Calligaris' 'Quartet, No. 1 op.34' (1995), Tzvi Avni's 'Two Pieces for Four Clarinets: "No Exit" and "Three Aspects of Janus"' (1965), Guido Arbonelli's 'Immagini da Auschwitz' (1995), Marco Montaguti's 'Paprika' (1994), Alexander Graur's 'Preludio e Toccata' (1988), James Clark's 'Broken' (1988), Daniele Gasparini's 'Enigma' (1995), and Gian Luca Deserti's 'Tema' (1993). This ensemble, from the bass clarinet to the high E-flat, is like one super clarinet as a single organic entity. It's a fascinating sound.
