absolutely amazing band
Really digging this earlier release from one of the hottest live bands around right now. The whole album includes banjos touching on eclectic jazz, tablas and bongos greeting bluegrass riffs - all tied down with thier base raw rock sound. They can swirl grooves straight to the sun without really noodling out, just lettting the instruments handshake each other in ever changing ways. This album does a great job of giving you a glimpse of what they can do live. But it is just a glimpse. Go see these guys to get the full effect. You'll be dancing to a world mix of polyrhythmic jams & skyrocking guitar riffs. But make no mistake and get fooled by the more exotic instruments - they are a rock band at heart. They can be bringing down the house with thier signature stomp "En Fuego" one minute then be tearing up "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" the next (as they did last year at Magnolia Festival).
