Music needs New Politics...Yeah Yeah Yeah!

MyaPinion

I listen to the radio in my car and always hear a self-glorifying pop song that injects nothing thought provoking nor reflects anything about what's going on in the world. It's awesome to hear a young new band like New Politics that are politically and socially savvy, and use great music to craft songs with real concepts. This whole album is great! Music needs New Politics…Yeah Yeah Yeah!

Not a big reviewer, but OblongRobber from Nixa, MO said it well.

Download it all. Now.

Few albums grab me out of the gate, but every track on the disc hit me the right way. It totally rocks out, and the lyrics have a smart, political edge to them. Think OK Go with purpose, Franz Ferdinand with a singer who can sing, Arctic Monkeys with melody. Best introduction: "Yeah Yeah Yeah" or "Love Is A Drug," but trust me: Download the whole thing. It will fire you up.

They Say All Music Guide

New Politics are a trio from Denmark who relocated to Brooklyn before recording their self-titled debut album for RCA. The relocation process may have included some time travel, because listening to the album is like stepping back into the middle of the 1990s alt-rock scene. The members of the band have all clearly and fully absorbed the era, and their sound takes elements from the top bands of the time. The thunder of the Pixies, the mope rage of Nirvana, the political shout of Rage Against the Machine, and the swagger of the Red Hot Chili Peppers are a few of the components of New Politics’ sound. Along with fleeting traces of post-’90s alt-rock (Strokes, Killers, Franz Ferdinand), the group adds an admirable dose of energy to the proceedings. – Tim Sendra
